Hi guys! Sorry for the long absence! As you know I was in Colombia for three weeks visiting my family. I took my computer with me thinking I was going to have time to work on the blog and upload new content, but the reality was different. I had no time at all! I was so busy catching up with so many people I barely had time to post on social media! But I hope you guys enjoyed the few posts I shared on Instagram! I visited two cities and saw most of my family! It was a good vacation and we had two baby showers! Sofia is such a lucky baby girl! We are all so obsessed with her and can’t wait to welcome her in early August! I just can’t believe she will be here so soon. We are counting the days!
We are almost done with the nursery! I can’t wait to do the reveal! I’ve been showing you guys sneak peeks but in July I will for sure share a full blog post with all the details and links to everything!
For now, let’s talk about maternity style which is the main idea of this blog post. Through out my entire pregnancy I had my high and lows. Days were I felt amazing and loved my new curves and days where I literally felt like I had nothing to wear. Styling the baby bump can be hard and overwhelming. Especially towards the end when the belly is growing every second and all you can wear are dresses. But as an influencer, I tried to stay focus and give you guys as many ideas as I could. I wanted to use my platform as an inspiration source for all the future mommas to be and show you the staying stylish during the pregnancy can be possible!
So, here are some tips for every trimester and a round-up of all my favorite looks so far with the links to every item.
FIRST TRIMESTER
Probably the easiest one, I didn’t notice a difference in my belly until maybe week 15. And it wasn’t a full baby bump, instead it look like a little stubborn belly pouch. I was able to wear my regular jeans until the very last day of this trimeter and some weeks after, and after that I bought my first pregnancy jeans which by the way I adore. One of my biggest recommendations during this trimester is not to rush to buy maternity clothes. Try to wear your regular clothes as much as you can and wait until your second trimester to add just a few pieces, believe me, you don’t want to shop as much during this time in your life because your body changes every day.
Biggest lesson learned: Baggy and loose clothes will be your best friends.
SECOND TRIMESTER
My favorite trimester. I felt so much energy and did so much! I was feeling my best and felt inspired to wear cute outfits. My favorite things to wear were definitely bodycon dresses with blazers!
I just loved how body con dresses accentuated my baby bump because it was finally showing and looking rounded!
I also enjoyed wearing jeans. I waited until my second trimester to finally get two pairs of maternity jeans and some maternity leggings for the gym but that was about it. My favorite denim brands for maternity are H&M and DL1961. I’ve also tried to stay away from getting maternity clothes, they can be pricy and you won’t use them as much, so going back to basics like solid color dresses, blazers, stretchy tank tops and blazers was key!
Biggest lesson learned: SIZE UP! Try to go up in sizes when buying clothes, so you can wear them after your pregnancy.
THIRD TRIMESTER
The beginning of the third trimester was easy, I was still able to style most of the clothes I wore during my second trimester, but once I passed half of it I felt like my baby bump was growing extremely fast. I’m currently 33 weeks and I’m almost gaining a pound per week because at this point the baby is just gaining weight and getting ready to come out of the womb, so my body baby bump feels bigger and bigger every day and I don’t find bodycon dresses as comfortable anymore. All I want to wear right now are loose dresses and baggy clothes again. Flat shoes, sneakers and low heels are also my go-to!
Biggest lesson learned so far: Wear what makes you feel the most comfortable! The more room for the baby bump the better!
Here are all my go-to accessories!
