Special thanks to Smilo for sponsoring this blog post! All opinions are my own!
Hi guys! Happy Monday!
Today’s post is all about bottle feeding and how we got started on that! Before taking this step, we talked to our pediatrician and decided to wait at least a month to officially start bottle feeding Sofi. I’m not going to lie, this was a step I was afraid of taking, not only because it would be something new for Sofi. We didn’t know how she was going to react to it, but because it almost felt like I was giving up one of my favorite things to do with my baby girl, nursing her. It’s such an intimate and special moment. I love talking and singing to her while breastfeeding, I love seeing how cozy and comfortable she feels.
I will forever be grateful with my body for giving me the opportunity to do that, but I also want Mauricio to experience what is like to feed her and bond with her a different way. That’s why we decided that we definitely wanted to introduce Sofi to bottle feeding after one month so I can have that help!
After making this decision and making sure breastfeeding was completely established, the next step was to find the right bottle and we are so glad we discovered Smilo!
We are truly happy with their products and so is Sofi. The first time we bottle fed her she liked it and she didn’t reject the bottle at any moment. It was such a big relief because I’ve read how so many babies resist taking a bottle.
I was so happy to see that she felt comfortable with Mauricio and that she didn’t feel gassy afterwards which is one of the biggest problems with bottles!
I have to say I’m pretty obsessed with our Smilo bottles! So far we are only bottle feed when I have to go somewhere and I can’t breastfeed Sofi. I usually pump before I have to go and I always leave the bottle ready for Mauricio so he just has to warm it and give it to Sofi. So far, it’s been a positive experience. Knowing we are using the best and that Sofi is getting a smooth feed makes us feel so tranquil!
Smilo bottles are so modern and revolutionary!
They have a little leak-resist vent that allows air into the bottle to replace liquid, you will see bubbles trapped inside the bottle which means the baby is not intaking any of that air. So, your baby won’t feel gassy and we noticed that right away with Sofi because she burped right away and didn’t show any discomfort afterwards.
Also, the patented nipple shape and mom-like milk duct makes everything easier, Sofi seemed to like it from the begging. It totally looked like she didn’t have any issues sucking and so far she hasn’t rejected it. The bottles are polyamide which is BPA, BPS, BPF & Phthalate-free and the sleeve which is amazing because it allows you to hold the bottle with a finger in case your hands get full, is made with medical-grade silicone, so you don’t have anything to worry about!
The design is also very eye catching and they come in three more colors! Take a look here! Also, make sure to check out the stage guide so you can get the right nipples for your baby!
As a first time mom, I’ve read a lot and I’ve browsed online for the best products for Sofi, and believe me, Smilo is a great brand and their prices are amazing as well!
Make sure to give them a try, you will love them as much as we do!
