HOW TO PACK FOR A BIG TRIP IF YOU ARE TRAVELING WITH YOUR BABY

Happy Saturday guys!

Today’s blog post is all about what Sofi and I wore during our trip to Europe. We planned this trip during the entire year and we were so excited so finally make it happen with Sofi on our side! It was honestly a dream come true and I feel so grateful for being able to bring her along with us! She did so amazing but I’ll be sharing more details about what it was like to travel overseas with her! The pros, the cons and a few tips!

Packing for a 10 day trip is very overwhelming specially when you are taking you 14 month old baby with you. And I think the only thing that makes the process easier is just packing with time in advance.

Since day one we knew we didn’t want to bring too many suitcases with us because we were bringing the stroller as well and there weren’t going to be enough hands for so many things, so two suitcases and a carry-on were what we were shooting for!

To keep this blog post short and very informative, here are 5 tips that are going to help you pack for your next trip with your family in a very smooth way! This process applies for your baby’s stuff as well. I packed for Sofi in the same way I packed for myself!

Make a list with all the things that are extremely important to bring.

Since we were traveling with Sofi, my biggest fear was forgetting things like her daily essentials ( Diaper rash cream, diapers, body lotion and body wash) and medicine just in case she gets sick ( Infant Tylenol, saline drops for congestion and chest rub), so starting by packing those things were key.  She had a cold a few days before our trip and since it was going to be cold in the countries we were going to visit, those were things I had to bring for sure! Babies can be very sensitive to changes and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to have to buy any of those essentials during our trip to avoid any allergies or weird skin reactions.

Star packing with at least 3 days in advance!

Get your suitcases out and start putting all the things you definitely don’t want to forget right next to them. That top, dress, shoes you must bring, etc. Doing that always helps me the most because I usually forget something if I pack last minute.

Grab a rolling rack or make a little space in your closet and start pulling all the things you want bring.

Try to select your most versatile jackets and bottoms. So you can mix and match as much as you can! For ten days, I packed three different blazers, one pair of light pink trousers and two jeans and styled those in different ways!

For Sofi’s outfits I started to pull all the clothes and laid them down on the floor. I would grab every single item per outfit including the basic onesie she was going to wear underneath every single outfit and socks or tights. And at the end I took a photo of everything so I would remember what goes with what.

Let the fun part begin! Now you’ve pulled all the clothes, start putting outfits together and take a mirror selfie of each one.

I had to share my suitcase with Sofi so we didn’t have space for any overweight. I had to bring just what I was going to wear so to ensure that was going to happen, I put together one outfit for every single day and then took a photo so I wouldn’t forget how I was supposed to wear every single piece of clothing on my suitcase! Make a folder on your phone with those photos for easy access when you  are getting ready!

And last but not least, pack your accessories and shoes!

This was probably the hardest part because I always love to bring so many shoes, BUT since I became a mom that has changed a lot! This trip was all about comfort, I knew we were going to be walking around a lot, so sneakers were my go-to and I made sure most of my outfits looked good with the ones I brought. For this trip I only pack two pairs of boots and a pair of sneakers that I wore 80% of the time. And, I just brought one bag. My new Chloé Faye Backpack which I got via The Real Real.

I hope all these tips will star making packing a lot easier! It was such a long process, but being this organized as SO worth it because I did not forget ONE thing!

As usual let me know if you have any questions! And don’t forget to follow me on Instagram for more outfit daily inspo! Now, here are all the looks. I linked every single item we wore!
