SHOP THE LOOK

Faux leather jackets are my favorite and every year I always try to update mine. Last year I wore it non stop and for this year I wanted to find a piece that had that extra detail. That’s why this one caught up my eye as soon as I saw it on Shopbop. It’s by Free People and it couldn’t be more perfect.I personally love the studs, they add an instant interest that will help any outfit stand out more. This jacket is probably the piece that I will be wearing every single day until it gets really cold and I have to wear a coat. I also love the how it looks with dresses.

And, since all you loved this look so much on Instagram, I decided to give you some tips to pull off this MUST-try fall outfit. Follow these four tips and you will notice how much you will love dresses for fall.

 1. Movement in what you are wearing is key.

That’s why silk dresses are my favorite. This polka dot was perfect for what I had in mind because I wanted to wear a short one, but it you are looking for a maxi dress, try to go for a silky one that of course will look super feminine but once you add the leather jacket, it will go from ultra feminine to edgy chic.

2. Pair dresses with booties

Booties look amazing with dresses during the fall, try to wear short dresses as much as you can before it gets really cold out there. And, if you want to give your outfit that extra touch of detail, opt for boots in patent leather. The shiny texture will look amazing with your black faux leather jacket.

 3. Accentuate your waist

Go for wrap dresses or dresses that are tight around the waist. Since silk dresses have that loose fit, make sure your dress is tight around the waist or it tights around the waist. Accentuating this part will help your body look amazing, because once you put the leather jacket on, it will add a lot of volume and you want to make sure there is a balance in proportions.

4. Prints, prints, prints

Last but not least, try  different prints, florals, polka dots or stripes. Dark florals in fall tones are my absolute favorite. I know, it sounds kind of cliché, but florals will never go out of style and they will always look incredible with faux leather jackets.  Take a look at the options below for some ideas!
