MY BABY SHOWER!

Special thanks to Jennifer Lozano for all the photos! Make sure to contact her here if you need any photography services!

Hey guys! Happy Saturday! I can’t believe I’m finally able to share this blog post with you guys! I was supposed to do it last week but a million things came up this week that kept me away from the computer and I had to push back the posting to today!

My baby shower was hosted by my beautiful mama and I couldn’t feel more grateful for everything she did. I remember when we were planning it we knew we wanted to find a cute and cozy place to do it and thanks to a friend of ours, we found The House of Commons an English tea room!

At first we thought we might be too many people for the place but everything worked out perfect. I can’t recommend The House of Commons enough. It’s such a pretty place located in the highlands area in Denver.

Jessica the owner is the sweetest person ever and her staff made sure everything would go smooth and perfect. I love how they let us bring little things to decorate the room and also some flower arrangements for the tables!

Mauricio and I (AKA the future parents of Sofi)!

Emelith, my mom and future most excited grandma or abuelita!

THE PLACE

The House of Commons is such a pretty place to simply have a cup of tea or to celebrate an important event in your life. They are open 7 days a week from 10am-6pm and I promise you once you visit it you will LOVE IT!

I still can’t believe it was my first time there! I can’t wait to go back and enjoy another cup of tea, they have over 80 teas from around the world and the food is delicious! You can check out their menu here! Their Hampton Court vegetarian mini sandwiches were my absolute favorite!

We felt so lucky to have all these amazing people with us. The idea was to offer an afternoon tea party for our closet girlfriends!

THE FOOD

The food was so yummy!  My favorite thing about it was the way it’s served! These towers are the cutest and they make the tables look SO adorable. I’m all about small details and I was in love with how chic and elegant they looked. The food included a delicate assortment of finger sandwiches, miniature scones served with jam, lemon curd and Devonshire Cream, Scottish shortbread, and homemade Petits Fours.

THE DECOR

We definitely wanted to have Sofi’s name somewhere in the room! So, we came up with this cute little idea that we found on Pinterest! My biggest source of inspiration for anything in life! Gold and baby pink were the color theme.

These pink ribbon garlands looked so adorable with the gold sign and gave so much life to the room! Right next to them we place some balloons with gold polka dots and the room looked so cute instantly!  The idea was to bring everything ready and spend about 30 minutes putting things in each place before the guest would start showing up.

The floral arraignments were made with peonies (my favorite flowers), a little bit of green leaves and baby’s breath.

THE FAVORS

Another cute idea we got from Pinterest of course! I remember wanting to make them for my wedding but since there were so many guest we had to find a simpler idea! But for the baby shower it was perfect! We adore succulents and these favors were just my favorite thing ever. People loved them and it’s actually something they keep for a while!

THE GAMES

We love games and we were so excited about this part of the baby shower. It’s the perfect way to integrate everyone and create a fun environment. We laughed so hard with all these games but since we only had 2 hours and a half to everything happened we decided to choose some short and easy ones!

The classic “What’s the size of my baby bump?”

This one made us laugh so hard! Some people cut the longest pieces of tummy tape! but one person was able to guess the exact size and I couldn’t believe it!

Don’t say the word “Baby” during the entire baby shower.

People loved this one. We welcomed everyone with a necklace with bunch of tiny wooden clothespins hanging on them and every time someone said the word baby, they had to loose one pin. It was all about being aware of everyone’s conversations! The winner was the person with the most amount of pins at the end of the baby shower!

Baby alphabet game

This was a fun one! Everyone had to race to think of words associated with babies that begin with each letter of the alphabet. We gave them three minutes and at the end the two people with the most words had the say them out loud. Some words were hilarious and that’s the whole point of the game! Also, they would also forget not to say the word baby and the people that get very serious about winning the “Don’t say the word baby game” were taking their clothespins and it was just so fun to see!

Say hi to the cutest guest! Baby Wyatt!
